ECW - just for arguments sake you understand

Got 'em a while back Simon, they have been languishing in a cupboard, I also bought some loose Call to Arms figures just to see what they came out like, and then I espied an Innkeeper and a serving wench, and I'm thinking....diorama or skirmish game.

Did you ever find any rules for ECW you were happy with Tim?

I've got two older sets that I'm mucking about with after lots of modifications. Forlorn Hope with a fairly major rewrite and then the Gush WRG rules. The core of these is very simple and still very good for ECW. Since the rules were written for a huge time frame lots of the options and modifiers can be cut out. I really need to stop painting/modelling and start play testing.

I also have a play test version of In The Buff, it really is a beta version that needs quite a lot of work. Not sure when TFL will get around to it.

Sounds like Pikemans Lament would be right up your street. Although the thought of a large Pike and Shot Regt in 54mm is mouthwatering

All this pike and Shotte talk made me spend an hour diving into my Wagner, European Weapons and Warfare 1618-1648, a most wonderful tome that was much thumbed in the days of my pike and shotting back in the 80's. Which makes me think, nobody has broached the Thirty Years War, a period of much fun frolic and marauding. Just thought I'd throw that into the mix.

To be honest, I was thinking more TYW than ECW, but I didn't want to confuse things. The flags were much prettier in the TYW.

Couldn't agree more about the Wagner book. I have an original and the Warlord reprint. I think it's out of print again (not sure about that thought).
