Just taken delivery of the Zvezda 1/72nd scale War Elephants set for my sometime/never Ancients project; and have got ebay bids in for some more Zvezda goodies, Roman Auxiliary Infantry and Roman Cavalry.

No pressure, but I'd love to see what you're doing with your 1/72 stuff. I favour 20mm but Donald, Ochain, is very much a plastics player and I'm sure he'd like to see what you're up to.Impecunious Hero wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2017 11:20 pm Just taken delivery of the Zvezda 1/72nd scale War Elephants set for my sometime/never Ancients project; and have got ebay bids in for some more Zvezda goodies, Roman Auxiliary Infantry and Roman Cavalry.

I’ve yet to master posting pictures on this forum; but have started putting some photos of my stuff up on a dedicated Facebook account (just search for Impecunious Hero, you should find it easily); mostly because a blog looked like hard work!

They are, well I find them to be hence I've started three and none lasted longer than three posts! FB is a much better option for those of us with attention lapses (If you don't object to the privacy issues).Impecunious Hero wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2017 1:04 am I’ve yet to master posting pictures on this forum; but have started putting some photos of my stuff up on a dedicated Facebook account (just search for Impecunious Hero, you should find it easily); mostly because a blog looked like hard work!

Oh, yes I too am interested will go look on faceybee. I actually picked up that box of elephants in Monk Bar Models the other day, but put it down again. I have a small army of Romans painted up but need revarnishing, humbrol went all sticky. Hence the yacht varnish. HaT do Macedonian and Persian Army boxes, which might go on the Christmas list. £10.99 for an army!

Ancients wise; I'm planning something like a "Hyboria Lite" campaign (well, a series of linked scenarios perhaps) with all manner of figures and nationalities banding together as take my fancy. which is what I'm doing with Napoleonics really.
Basically Games have to fit on the dining table, but the Programmed Scenario Book by C. S. Grant keeps the unit count low enough.
I've almost got enough units for the first Napoleonic clash; just some artillery required, and some basic scenery.

That's the problem with buying one made from Elephant scrotum!Neanderthal wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2017 11:42 pm enjoyed it hugely I had a rush of blood to the wallet.
My postman is getting curious at the variety of small, light boxes he has to deliver, as i'm buying copious amounts of grass tufts, flocks and clump foliage to base my figures for Ayton 2018 and build woods for my 6mm stuff.
