Let me know which one you settle on. and what stage you are at. You can go and keep LT company on the right hand side
Re: The Pointy Stick thread
Historically both checked and lined were worn. I have about 30 figures painted already which were going to be used for Romany Rampant. They’re in the process of being rebased.

I get lockdown, but I get up again.
Re: The Pointy Stick thread
Oh, if we can use stuff we already have, then I've got Early Saxons or Vikings I can use! Is that fair? I've got a copy of WAB somewhere too, but it's probably v1.0
Why us? Cos we're 'ere lad, nobody else.

Re: The Pointy Stick thread
whatever you want to do Gary. WAB 1.0 is usable - base rules are identical - it just doesnt have the optional rules and extra FAQs etc that are in 1.5.
Choose an army and i'll promote you to wanky and smug. Unless you want it to be a project. Which you do really

Re: The Pointy Stick thread
Not too much changed between the versions. Version 2 saw most changes but that was rubbish!
Version 1.5 has a broad border surrounding the picture on the front cover.
Rob Broom went on to write War and Conquest. Which is seen as the natural WAB successor.
Re: The Pointy Stick thread
I think it should be deemed illegal to start this project already complete
Re: The Pointy Stick thread
A lot depends whether this is going to small and reasonable, or an arms race. I quite fancy a small project, but I'm not going to paint gazillions of hoplites.
Why us? Cos we're 'ere lad, nobody else.

Re: The Pointy Stick thread
i think its do what you want Gary. This is more a shared project than an end in itself. I'm going to be doing a small-ish army but an army rather than just a skirmish force. 100ish figures i guess. But you could easily do a Rampant sized force. If i were you i'd start a small project
