Aint it foggy outside, all the varnishing has been grounded
Aint the fire inside, lets dullkote around it;
Honey I been there, watched you paint
An we aint had not time sink that pint;
I understand you've been runnin with the man who goes by the name of the Kanban;
He rides the sky like an eagle in the eye of a project that's abandoned;
Aint the years gone by fast;
I suppose that you have missed them?
Uh I almost forgot to ask;
Have you heard of my enlistment;
Honey, I bin there;
And you bin paint;
And we aint had time to sink that pint;
I understand you've been runnin with the man who goes by the name of the Kanban;
He rides the sky like an eagle in the eye of a project that's abandoned;

The Pointy Stick thread
Re: The Pointy Stick thread
I've been trying to recall what I have unpainted in the as yet unfound box in the garage!
I know I've got a few hundred Early Saxons by Musketeer/Footsore, a couple of bags of Classical Indians, a pack of Tibetans and some Steve barber Mongols which I wanted o use for the Ayton DR game but were too small to mix comfortably with the GB and Fireforge Mongols. However:
I don't want to do another shieldwall army and the Indians are a bit of a 'one trick pony'. So that leaves me with Tibetans and Mongols or go out and but a complete new army, which I'm trying to avoid!

In the spirit of this exercise, what army have you hankered after but never got around to? Or as it is Hyborea, do the Indians with Pygmy Mongol and Tibetan Allies.

Ah yes. Blokes With Pointy Things. I never understood the attraction and never will. IRL people who use dead languages are irrelevant to me. I reject them and all their patronising drivel.
Rant over.

Re: The Pointy Stick thread
I did drive all before me at the Ayton DR game with my Mongols and i've just been reading an academic text which talks about Tibetans and Mongols Allying against the Song Dynasty! Something more classical might be fun though.
Re: The Pointy Stick thread
Read Conn Iggulden’s Mongol series. That’ll get you going!
Re: The Pointy Stick thread
I'll wait until after Ayton before I make any decision, I can always fall back on the Mid-late Saxon Army I used, very poorly, in the past
Re: The Pointy Stick thread
I have ambitions of expanding my Arthurian, Late Saxon and Viking forces to a meaningful size. They’re all around 50 or 60 figures at the moment.

Do not worry, in 10 years time we will be saying the same about the RAF.Wg Cdr Luddite wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2019 4:12 pm Ah yes. Blokes With Pointy Things.
