That 6mm stuff looks great but I do like the ECW - mainly because you've got me looking for mine - although I’m guessing that the Contrast approach isn’t that quick, do you get much bleed-over between the different washes?

The bleeding over wasn't a problem, and I think I've figured out the trick with the CP - it's helpful to have the clear medium to push/blend the pigment around. Also for the big areas, I paint one segment at a time, so rather than the whole coat - do the sleeves and then the torso, or similar, so you can control the coffee staining. Also, two thin, quick coats gives me better coverage, without much increase in time. Certainly faster than layering or waiting for the dip to dry...only to discover some blob of it where you least expected it.

Not much painting time since the weekend, but I think I've got these down to 20-30 minutes per figure, which is very quick for me regardless of scale. I think this project has new life.

They are looking good for ‘fast paint’. 1,000 of them would look well ‘andsome.

Continuing my CP experiments. One reason I got them was to see how they'd work for WWII quick paints.

I looked at the contrast paints today in the shop. At £4.50 a jar, I just can’t justify the price.

It's all "Horses for Courses", If laying out £45 for paints gets you finishing off a couple of £250 projects that have sat on a shelf it's an investment. I'd be ecstatic if my ECW looked that good in that time.
