Re: HMS Priapus' Flying Bridge
Hmmm... single stand works better for 6/10mm... but MAY work in 15mm...
You should do a sample stand....

Got a load of the Blue Moon 18mm... Happy to pass them on, as they won't fit within the Shrine of COTOTS.

Re: HMS Priapus' Flying Bridge
EB has a pile of Blue Moon both his own and the ones I sold him. I'm sure we'll get round to the project at some point. What BM have you got?

Re: HMS Priapus' Flying Bridge
Enough to do roughly 10-12 BNs of Russians and Swedes, Here's the one unit I'd painted before changing scales.
Probably 3x12 figure cavalry for each side, plus a couple of field guns each as well.

Re: HMS Priapus' Flying Bridge
Tried to adapt the Goaty One's basing scheme (on Left) to my 6mm work today.
goat major wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2019 12:20 pm Cheers HMS. Its my deserty-ish basing.
Ready mixed grout for the base layer
Areas of sand scattered in patches
Painted in a random pattern of Vallejo Orange Brown and Foundry Rawhide (Mid). Base edges in chocolate brown.
Scatter small patches of some small grey ballast type stuff I've got - wash them brown
Drybrush up the whole base - med flesh, buff , buff/white. Make the rocks lighter than the other patches
Add some tufts and dry brush them Japanese uniform yellow
Re: HMS Priapus' Flying Bridge
In my ever so humble opinion, the slightly lighter bases are a little more complementary to the figures, but I'm not sure tufts work with the little fellows.
As for the BM GNW stuff......I have way too many projects as it is. Which is sad, because they are lovely figures. On the other hand, if Andy were to invest...........?

Re: HMS Priapus' Flying Bridge
Thanks, EB, for the constructive feedback.
Actually got some gaming in. All too rare these days, but got out me FIW and played a great game of SP2, and had a couple gooseberry hand pies to boot... not my best table, as I really need to make the time to paint the movement trays

Think I'd have put something other than gooseberries in the pie though
