Kein Plan überlebt den ersten Kontakt mit den Würfeln. (No plan survives the first contact with the dice.)

Re: Ottomans
Thank you chaps. I am rather chuffed with how they turned out.
Brendan......go and stand in the corner.
Clive....... all 20mm Newline Janissaries from the Napoleon in Egypt range. No conversions, although I gave some of the figures a shield (Sean did me a deal on the shields) as a nod to an earlier period.

Magic stuff! I think sending the Baron to the seraglio doctor might be more appropriate.

Those are objects of great delight and beauty, quite delightfully painted. They have brought delight to my morning coffee in a most delightful way.
I get lockdown, but I get up again.

Yep, echoing the above. Just lovely. I have a soft-spot for the Ottomans, as they were the first 15mm 'Ancients' I ever painted. Mikes Models. The flags especially are just brilliant. But if I can ask.. why 20mm? isn't everyone else playing in 15/28?

I was a penniless teen who fell in love with the 20mm Les Higgins Marlburian range. Sadly, they went OOP long before I could afford them. Decades later via Achtung Schweinhunt! I find that they are back, by which time I had too much disposable income! Happy days, and a recipe for disaster (other LoA/WSS ranges are available). Newline bought out the Napoleonic Ottomans. They pretty much looking like 17thC Ottomans........well you would want some, wouldn't you.
