I'm thinking of commiting heresy

I'm looking for an interesting HQ unit for Ayton. It has to be AWI vintage to match the army but the only one that looks interesting is this one.

The problem being that they are French, not their fault of course but it is what it is. Is anyone liable to blow a gasket if a couple of them have red coats?
