And you are never allowed to forget it huh!

Just got hold of Don Featherstone's War Games - Battles and Manouvers with Model Soldiers. Can't believe the first print was 1962. The section on Modern Warfare details a WWII wargame!

We call 1980s Cold War stuff 'modern' and it's chuffing ages ago.

Re: 10 Desert Island Books
I guess dad grew up in WWII, I grew up in the Cold War. We were wargaming Cold War Gone Hot in the late 70s, early 80s, using the kit of the eighties.
To me that's modern and it's only got a few real changes from WWII. Post Y2k it gets hard with a complex set of sensors, tank defence systems and top attack warheads. A millennial would consider it as quaint as I think dad's designation of WWII was.

Long story, but 'er indoors' was once offered £60,000. My labola was pretty cheap by comparison.

5,000 I'd accept on the spot.

Next for me. We’ve had a few Blandfords but nobodies thrown this in yet. Mines been well fingered.
