Yes, I know someone who gets parcels sent to his office in a futile attempt to keep purchases from Mrs X.

Internet banking is the death of surreptitious online purchases... Affairs can largely be done by squirrelling cash (so I'm told, er...) but wargames figures are a bugger to buy undetected. :(

I’m fortunate in that my wife doesn’t really care. She has her hobby and I have mine.

Every time a partner complains about your buying more figures you employ a 2 part strategy.

1: Go down the pub 3 or 4 nights a week (no need to drink heavily, just be gone the whole evening and make sure you smell of alcohol.

2: comment that their shoe collection is too large and not only do they have enough so no new ones, but they need to cut back on the collection as is.... (you may need it to be dresses, dolls, china ornaments etc. but the principle works).

Or, sit down and talk to him/her about why it bothers them so much....

In the good old days of the Red Star parcel service they could have popped them into the cab of a passing train.
I know when to go out
I know when to stay in

Mine just can’t her head round that like the universe, toy soldiering is infinite.
Whenever I finish a batch she enquires if I’ve done... like for good? Why do you need more? And she shows utter surprise when I pull out more.

What’s interesting is that when you think of that notion, the mere thought of having no more soldiers to paint ever... is truely distressing!
