Re: What are people buying?
There were at least two series of articles covering conversions. AIrfix and Military Modelling both did one I think.

I don't remember military modelling but, unsurprisingly, Airfix magazine was full of how to pin, use sprues, stretched and unstretched, plasticine sealed with banana oil, and clothing made of paper.

While TW did some conversion articles - including terrain ones like the Medieval Town and the large FFL forts made out of four Airfix Fort Saharas - Bob O’ Brien had several iconic long running series of these and deserved at least some of the credit for them.
Thanks for quoting my own blog at me. I am already familiar with it.
Far more Terry Wise terrain conversion articles than figure ones there.

I was thinking of the Airfix Guide to ACW Wargaming, just had a read through this morning.

Re: What are people buying?
I was quoting exactly the series I had mentioned. The Bob O'Brien stuff was before my time, I remember these articles in Airfix Magazine, and Terry Wise ACW flags in the Airfix Annual, then him as edotor of OP Mil Modelling.Vintage Wargaming wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 3:24 pm While TW did some conversion articles - including terrain ones like the Medieval Town and the large FFL forts made out of four Airfix Fort Saharas - Bob O’ Brien had several iconic long running series of these and deserved at least some of the credit for them.

Just got my 'helicopter money,' possibly just the first installment given the state of things here in the US. Now, what to spend it on besides hookers and an 8 Ball...
