Yeah, so did I until someone explained it to me. Units from 5-20 figures, 5 to a rank on 25mm square bases. About 100-150 points for a 10 figure unit, small game is 500-1000 points, standard game 2500 points. So not massive, about the same as early WHFB, before the 60 figure Empire units of later editions. One box of Dwarves plus a metal Dwarf Captain gives a basic 600 point army of 10 soldiers, 10 spearmen and 10 archers. Just about my big enough.

Oh yes... I've got those here somewhere... Probably lurking with the deeply unfashionable Citadel Pygmies...

Back in the late 70s/early 80s, a London club (the Old Guard?) used to put on Asterix games with what I suspect were 54mm (maybe bigger?) versions of these; I can recall at least two distinct games, of which the most memorable was a tavern brawl. The games were an absolute hoot - even if I did get typecast as Obelix.

If anyone has any of the metal magic Asterix figures, I'd be happy to make an offer. I want to get the Roman's up to a decent sized unit, and I need to find the Pirates for a Cilician ally contingent.

They’re going for stupid prices on eBay these days. I mean eye wateringly stupid

I bought most of mine 6 or 7 years ago. And the prices were ok, not cheap but ok. I suspect there are also quite a few recasts knocking about.

I'll try to find them. However, don't hold your breath, as just lately I've been completely unable to find stuff that I KNOW is there... They're undercoated, but otherwise unpainted and still in the boxes.

I never hold my breath. It's bad for you, and most people do their best.

For those interested, Warlord Games are apparently going to re-start their "in place of show offers" discounts from Monday, having had to postpone them due to the lockdown.

Well they have a game of the month sales model, and lack of shows has killed that.

Just sen the dates for Hammerhead 2021, probably my next show, as the 2020 was my last one.

Should have been at Games Expo today as well.
