WoFUN (Peter Dennis flats)

Post by tim.w »

I'm sure you've all seen the excellent paper soldiers by Peter Dennis? there's a kid down the club who only buys these. Just seen that there's a company in Europe doing his paper figures in plastic. Very intrigued by these as they look great! I tried with a free sample of the paper figures but found them too fiddly, time bette spent on painting actual figures but these have me working out if it's worth a punt at 65e for a starter set? You get a rule set by Andy Callan included but I'd be looking to do some old schooling or Neil Thomasing. The Punic and Antiquity ranges are fab! I found myself thinking that I'd probably prefer real figures for anything musket era, but I'm open to being convinced otherwise.

I think only some of the figures are by Peter Dennis so you might want to be careful which ones you get. I was looking at their website the other day and I think they are plexiglass - the larger scale might be more robust.

I'd be tempted by a HYW set.
I know when to go out
I know when to stay in

I have a couple of the paper figures books but I can't warm to them. Give me proper metal flats any day.

Proper Flats would work well with A Gentlemans War. Something like this

The Wofun plastic flats need bases with slots so you really need to buy those from them too which puts the cost of the starter set up to 89 Euros. They look OK and I might actually consider picking up a starter.
