Re: Popular periods
Too many to list I think - but I love painting medievals (5 different projects ongoing) and Sharp Practice revived a love of Horsey Bang Bang games. Plus France 1940 is always good. And Bronze Age (but not Summerians).
Trojans? Been there (Redoubt), painted them and sold them. Then bought them again (Foundry).
The term ‘wazzock’ may be freely applied.

Good punning Goat.
Re: Popular periods
Popular periods for me are..............
1680-1750. Because: uniforms are baggy and colourful, flags can be big and flouncy, I can usually get away with having pikes in a unit, floppy hats. And it's quite an interesting period of history.
Ancients. Because: it's colourful, I can paint the troops any way I like and no one can argue, pikes. And because of Donald, now I want chariots.
Colonial. Because: colourful and easy to make stuff up.
ACW. Because: pretty flags, no cavalry.

Napoleonics for me, I like them so much I have farsands in 15mm and a decent no in 28s now and now even some in 6mm
I've been daft enough to start SYW in the past 5 years and got sucked into lots of other periods too but Napoleonics are my first love

Re: Popular periods
Boring as hell- very plain painting, close knit spear groups predominate, onger carts that move and act like a taxi at rush hour. Admittedly we were trying a DBA campaign but it might be the only time I fell asleep during a game. Should’ve gone for HoTTs.
