And I've just found a very old photo of Ian Kay and his Dad in an issue from about 1986, which I'll send on to him.

Send them both together on the same envelope, save a stamp.

Been thinking outside the box today. To normal people this is a set of fridge magnets that show part of the New York Metro.

To a wargamer it's 50 20mm magnetic bases. I grabbed 3 sets so when my discount is applied I have 150 bases for £3.78.

Edit: they are slightly over 20mm but that would only matter if I was going to put them into movement trays. So long as I align them all the same way that shouldn't be necessary.

Yup, it's amazing how much magnetic vinyl can be found for bugger all expenditure. In work they've put up magnetic Covid-19 signs, which in six months' time will be mine, all mine...

Failing that, this company is great for magnetic vinyl and magnets of all shapes and sizes. They also do ready-cut magnetic vinyl e.g. 'dots' which are perfect for sticking to circular coin/washer bases.

When Alstom launched a new Ways of Working (WoW) program we all got credit card sized magnetic vinyl aide memoires. Once we got bored of seeing who could launch them across the office to see if they would stick to the filing cabinets I collected up about 80.

You should put out feelers for getting your box designated as the official recycling point for the network.

I forgot, you live in York don't you. All mod cons, like gas, electric, roads, lights, phones and computers what work.

Posh bastards. 🧐
