Your frankness is commendable.
Thanks. I knew I was among similarly-afflicted friends here.

It does look fantastic when it's on the flat and I would definitely recommend it if you normally put all your hills, etc. on top. Here's what it looks like when it's draped over terrain, although note that I'd weighted it down with rocks and pinned it down with needle-'based' trees:

I was thinking about washing it to soften the fabric, but don't know how colourfast it is. Does anyone know?

As always, it depends on size.
I've got a Tiny neoprene mat and with some gentle hills I think it looks better than the cloth:

But that's only for gentle rises, for anything else I use drop-ons.
I get lockdown, but I get up again.

My new Geek Villain desert mat on top of my newly constructed gaming table (ignore the unpacking detritus and horrid wall colours)

Quality of the mats is excellent, but prefer Cigar Box as they give more overhang

It looks great - time for a new desert project. Sand Dwarves ?

Yes I agree the Cigar Box dimensions are better I agree and I also prefer their designs. But effectively they are priced out of the UK market now I fear.

That's a splendid table, Jezza. Enjoy.

I made my own green cloths from old army blankets. It's taken a bit of experimentation, but I'm happy with the results thus far.
