Up until mid July I had madly painted away like a mad thing, and now boredom and ennui has set in.
No interest in any period new or existing (even bought the 2 Helion FPW books on kindle for all of £7 the pair and not getting into it). No interest in painting or buying figures, terrain and building ideas have dried up, just total hobby stop.
I need a hobby to take me away from my hobby, but with Covid and stuff, not even finding anything that is pricking my interest (except maybe T Gauge model railways).
Woe, woe and thrice woe.....

Re: Boredom
I find wargames and RPG’s a good mix. Depending on my mood I flex the time spent on each one. Sometimes I just take a week off and recharge batteries

Re: Boredom
RPGs are not doing it either, (I mix the 2 all the time) and this has now been a month of lethargic boredom.
What I probably need is a week on a mountain top and let the wind blow the cobwebs out, but Covid issues preclude such a thing.

Re: Boredom
I haven't painted a figure in 5 years. Work is getting me motivated.

Yeah, the same thing hit me at exactly the same time.

Re: Boredom
I am having a problem focusing. My latest classic Napoleonic unit has taken 7 weeks and still a long way of finishing. I have tried some re basing as I hoped that the tedium would get my painting mojo back on track. That has not worked.

Sometimes it’s just good to have a break.

Re: Boredom
It doesn’t seem uncommon Fred, the mojo does go on holiday from time to time. I assume it’s the same in other hobbies as well. You need a short break into another activity, I recommend hard drinking.
I get lockdown, but I get up again.

I used to knock out 2-3 Nap units a week in the good old days (18mm, 24 inf or 12 Cav). I havent painted anything since last Ayton.
