Thanks for the kind words, I think that if I reduce the amount of flat yellow and increase the pale grey I've got the right tone for the ghouls that are around here somewhere. Of course the magic touch is the coat of Wilko water based medium oak varnish. I would need a lot of convincing to believe that Army Painter Soft Tone is any better.

I'll never get a whole army of Manic Dwarves painted in December and as individuals they're a bit...underwhelming
I might have to splash some cash and pick up a few interesting models as the start to a Frostgrave/DR or general dungeon crawl band of stunties.

Re: Gobbortunity Knocks
I have an unpainted host of dwarves and was wondering if I really wanted a stuntie army - I might be tempted to flog off a bunch of them. I’ll try and sort through them and make my mind up at the weekend.

Paul I think it will be similar rules to Goblin Week - just paint any number of Dwarves that you think you can manage from 1 - 1,000,000
Re: Gobbortunity Knocks
Oh I know but half a dozen Mantic dwarves will just look rubbish...en masse they're great but they they were always meant as cheap mass battle troops. I don't have the time/hands/eyes to tackle that many in a month and would like to have something useable at the end (A Dragon Rampant army can be crazy small so that's a possibility)

oh sorry I hadn't realised you needed an excuse for more figures . I'll have another go...
absolutely. An army is the minimum. Two would be preferable

Re: Gobbortunity Knocks
I'm going with one dwarf 'group', 10 figures is nice and manageable. And they will be the first Napoleonic figures I've painted in forever.
