Excellent GM!
We're gonna need a bigger stash of dynamite!!
Otherwise we'll have to fall back on Mr Myopic, our 'renowned' hunter.

Summary: No dynamite used yet, but there are fireworks in the library

On the train doing bit of research Dr SIngh was (amazingly) useful twice. Firstly the picture of Yig is very similar to the statue he saw in the temple at the Meadham estate. Also reviewing the personnel records he realises that there is a second Caduceus warehouse at Cochrane's Wharf that has no admin staff but significant numbers of security guards.

Arriving at Bingham in the fury of a terrifying dust storm the heroes check in at the Bingham Hotel. The best hotel in Bingham. Well the only hotel. Except for Bill Schoenbaum's B&B which he doesn’t run any more for some reason.

The hotel is owned by the cheery and god-fearing Edith who sings praises of the preacher and how he had cured the cataracts from old Harry Mathewson at the barber shop. The adventurers are less impressed by her vast collection of dolls. One of which has a tendency to stare at Hilaire. Every meal she serves are cold cuts.

Next morning the storm has subsided and the doll hasn't murdered Hilaire yet. In best CoC style the team split up.

Hilaire and Karina visit the First Church of Christ The Redeemer, now seemingly called simply The First Church. They meet the lovely preacher who is friendly young man. Odd that as Edith told them he'd been the reverend for the last 30 years. He invited them to the service this evening and left them to look round the church that was decorated with children's drawings - Adam/Eve + serpent, the staff turning into snakes, a man lying in a cave etc. Coming back they met the Sheriff - who reinforced what a good man the preacher was.

Derrick & Randall went for a haircut (That’s Dave and Norm so some difficult roleplaying for them). The barber was friendly and told them that Harry was asleep in the room next door - he'd eaten the previous day and as usual would be sleeping it off for a couple of days. There were some strange thumps upstairs and Derrick went to investigate and spotted the barber's wife jumping around furniture catching flies to eat. Harry carried on sleeping with his huge distended belly clearly visible. In the meantime Randall's moustache was groomed magnificently.

Meanwhile Singh went to the library. What could go wrong ? After his initial introduction he was aggressively shushed by the librarian, a somewhat frosty lady called Alice. He seemed to weigh up whether to have a gunfight in the library or perhaps blow it up but instead chose to follow a young woman home. Somehow the young lady, Suzie Schoenbaum, took a liking to him and told him to be suspicious - to witness the sermon and see what was strange about this town. Singh decided to go back to the library and charming the librarian with chocolate he seduced her into exploring the archives together. His boyish wittering melted her heart and she allowed him to slip inside……

The other heroes, unaware of the love interest in the library visited the diner where a group of conspiratorial customers were charmed by Karina's chest. They started to share their suspicions of the reverend. Was he possessed by the devil ? What had happened when he wandered in the wilderness for 40 days and 40 nights and came back a changed man ? They invite them over to join in their alternative prayer meeting led by Bill Schoenbaum tomorrow. Before they got to know them one of the diners, clearly a bit of a drunk, had left and eyed up the party suspiciously.

Suddenly there is an explosion and racing outside it is clear the church is on fire. The heroes rush and help the parishioners in the bucket line, with a number of townsfolk staring sullenly.

As the church is engulfed by flames the Sheriff arrives carrying a discarded gas can. This was no accident he shouts, and glaring at the crowd…… someone is going to pay.

You know it is a capital offence?

He'll have to get pretty close, based on past experience.
