Very nice work! That's the second temptation for Late Romans in one evening. I remain strong!

I've been trying to paint some 28mm this weekend and got frustrated with my efforts. The time may have come for me to invest in some magnifying goggles.

I did manage to clear the workbench of the 2nd batch of 42mm shiny cavalry.

Thanks Tim, and if I do them for Dux, I have about enough for an entire second force still lurking in the box, plus a bunch of mounted. I have a suspicion I may end up with multiple versions.

Nice looking chaps. I’m a little shocked you have them painted and based before adding the LBM transfers. I tend to do that before the shield is ever attached (and still manage to balls it up).

Well, these guys are Gripping Beast metals, so the shields are cast on, and since it's now the third week of waiting for LBMS - I decided to bash on.

It may be a bad decision, but I was always going to have to apply transfers with at least the shield painted and attached to the figure.

Did they come with spears? GB usually do.

They did. Which was excellent and the transfers arrived so whacked them on at lunchtime. I'm pleased with how they look.

Lovely! I do love those GB Late Roman and early Dark Age figures.

Well I'm finally getting around to painting my Total Battle Miniatures buildings and village tiles (the latter being absolutely rubbery...). The church comes with two different spires and an onion dome option. It'll be a shame to just stick on one and waste the rest, so I'm drilling and pinning the tower and drilling a corresponding hole in the spire/dome bits. They're lovely models and should look spiffing in Saturday's game.

My one sole complaint about the GB metal sculpts is the trousers

Not enough folds...

But yes, finding them pretty easy to paint too. Especially since I've done all the guys in helmets I need for the moment.
