Dark Ages Teasers
Re: Dark Ages Teasers
Not only did I win, but I beat two of my pals who are ex-army officers. Either alone is a formidable opponent & together, I've never actually beaten them before now.
I will state, in the interests of a full & open disclosure, I wrote the rules. My opponents had used them once & never before. I devised the scenario & have been thinking about for a week whilst it was divulged to my opponents just before the game.
I also *think* the L. Romans were a bit understrength (I think I'll acquire 1-2 more units to even things up).
So things were stacked in my favour. However, they did make an initial blunder in using their horse archers to attack me across the river. I chewed their units up & they needed them later to contain my skirmish missile troops.
Photos? I was too busy holding my breath until I won.

Re: Dark Ages Teasers
There is usually the sound of dice rattling, a loud declaration of the number of sixes, and then a swift scooping up....
Re: Dark Ages Teasers
And yet I also have a reputation for only ever throw 'ones', particularly when all that's required is to not to roll ones. I wish you people could get your heads together and find some sort of consistency with your accusations. It's all very confusing.Count Belisarius wrote: ↑Thu Jan 21, 2021 12:52 amThere is usually the sound of dice rattling, a loud declaration of the number of sixes, and then a swift scooping up....

Consistency in accusations! What a preposterous idea.

Of course it's confusing. EB can adapt his cheating in a myriad of ways! In the same way he can take command of a near victorious army and bring defeat and ignominy to said army in a variety of ways...

In the vast empty wastes of Essex, a man might cheat for a dozen lifetimes and nobody would know.

If EB rolls the dice in the woods (or vast forests of Essex) and no one is there to see, will he still cheat?

In the Essex arboreal a man may roll dice the size of houses and no one would know.

Indeed. And I feel we should now move on.
Excellent looking game, Donald. And congrats on your victory! Apologies for hijacking your thread. But you should be used to it by now!

I am, indeed, used to it.
Still rocked by the news of Iain's...peccadilloes? I've met him & always considered him some sort of precious stone geyser (I forget the exact patois he uses).
