Anyone got any recommendations on these? I have a copy of Tomorrow's War that I am not sure about, and FWC which sort of converts to skirmish.
Basically I have a bunch of figures including Dr Who, Daleks, Aliens, Colonial Space Marines etc, and no preferred ruleset. I would be looking at maximum sort of squad level, (i'm tempted to use Vietnam era for the Colonial Space Marines), rules for drones, robots, ecm, flamers, etc..
Any ideas (rules should be currently available and preferably not cost an arm and a leg!)

Laser Burn
Re: Sci-Fi Skirmish Rules
Get the game you want by writing your own! As it's sci fi, the only research you need to do is watch lots of films and TV......win, win

Not quite fitting your criteria, but Sci fi Frostgrave arrives in April. I’ll be using this to resurrect my legacy Sci fi leadpile
Re: Sci-Fi Skirmish Rules
"Stargrave" might convince me to break out some of the old 25mm stuff I have but the books not cheap and, as with all the Frostgrave stuff, I worry about all the extras needed for encounters etc...goat major wrote: ↑Fri Mar 12, 2021 1:44 pm Not quite fitting your criteria, but Sci fi Frostgrave arrives in April. Thanks for the suggestions. Writing my own is tempting. How hard can it be
I haven't tried Laserburn, will see what reviews are out there. I might check whether Ganesha have something suitable as well.
Stargrave doesn't sound like it will scratch my itch unfortunately.

Another vote for Fistful of Lead:

Played both medieval and sci-fi versions of this at the Edinburgh club, good fun both times. Squads are based around 1 leader and 4/5 grunts -these could be a Doctor and his Companions or Daleks or almost anything you want.

Re: Sci-Fi Skirmish Rules
Thanks for that additional suggestion. I should also have stipulated that any set of rules must include Sterling SMG and SLR, in case U.N.I.T. need to get involved. Thus of course making the rules ideally suited to dealing with Bond villain henchmen as well.

Re: Sci-Fi Skirmish Rules
Keeping an eye on this as something that covers 70s sci fi using 3 or 4 squads aside.
Possibly a bit of tinkering to CoC might work.
