Very nice, Ilkey. Spenser Smith never made it down here, so I started with Airfix Napoleonics and found Minifigs 20mm Napoleonics(later they went to 25's) in a shop in North Sydney. First actual SYW figures were Revel, which lasted until Eureka released their 18's. I may have gone a little overboard- and may have to update my site http://members.westnet.com.au/~dalgavan/syw2/syw2.htm (some new photos in particular).

Tin Soldier, where I spent my teens and 20s. Sadly went broke over a decade ago.

Baron, much the same problem here. At my old club Saga and Wings of Glory got played a lot, but apart from the training scenario in TWG, SYW never got played there. The group in Canberra is much better, we've played a myriad of periods and styles, including old favourite board/card games like Kingmaker or Enemy in Sight, when we didn't feel like setting up the figures. But again neither my SYW nor my ACW (JR2 rules) have had a trot.

Grant II's Refighting History and it's predecessor have a lot of scenarios in them as well, from raids to the big battles. A bit pricey, but for me they're worth it. Two scenarios I really want to do, though, are Mollwitz from the original TWG and Lobositz. I may get a chance if I push the idea hard with the lads. It's one reason I collected both sides, I'm not depending on someone else to do it. Thanks for the comment on my collection- it's as much about flags and uniforms than about wargaming. (It's also a reminder of how my painting has deteriorated.) It's grown a bit since that page was put up- I'll have to make time to photograph the new stuff. I'm happy with the way the mitres came out for the Hanoverian grenadiers (below- they need a matt coat to tone down the shine)- the decals seem to finish them off.

Grizzly, even before then, mate. Models and Figurines was run by Mick Greene, originally on Military Road at Cremorne, before moving to St Leonards. Mick was casting Minifigs under license as well as having some other makes and a lot of large scale figures, such as Almond Sculptures. I was posted north in '78 and by the time I was back in Sydney in '85 the shop had disappeared- probably bought out by someone.

Just adding some BAOR to my Danes, and about to get into the messy business of adding rolled up scrim netting using an old stocking, white glue and some tea leaves... Interestingly, the two specialised FV432 hulls on the right and one of the Scorpions are showing some layering from the 3d printing process, but nothing else is. Curious.

Started work on some Eureka Minis Bush Wars figures and was shocked to see something I hadn't for years. The metal they are using has a blotchy yellowy appearance similar to that we used to sometimes get back in the '80s with lower quality castings.
Is the discolouration really a result of a substandard alloy or is it due to some other part of the casting process?
