Pendraken 2022 Releases!

The new releases continue at Pendraken HQ and we've got a small batch of new Soviet vehicles for you now, ahead of our big US/Soviet Cold War ranges coming next week.

Firstly we've got the BMP-1, one of the most highly produced IFVs in history, which was launched in the 1960s and is still in use today. From the Arab-Israeli conflicts to Afghanistan and beyond, this should be a popular addition to a lot of games!

Next up is the T-64 in three variants; A, B and BV. As with the BMP-1, this was first produced in the 1960s and can still be seen in use in the current Russian invasion of Ukraine. The A and B variants are quite similar in appearance, but the BV has the reactive armour and smoke launchers on the side of the turret.

One extra thing to note with these vehicles is that these are the first ever releases that have been designed digitally. It's taken a long time for the technology to reach a level that we're happy with and we've done a lot of testing/tweaking with the printers to get the best results out of them. The photos might not show it fully but the detail on these models is excellent and produces very crisp castings. Going forward this will open up a lot of possibilities for us to speed up the mastering process and get back on schedule with our vehicle releases.

More new releases for you now! Some off you might have spotted these arrive on the website yesterday but here's the 'official' announcement!

These new Cold War ranges are aimed at the late-1970's to mid-1980's timeframe, with the US in both the M1 helmet and later PASGT kit, and the Soviets carrying both AK-47s and AK-74s. We've also added some fun extras like the Soviet engineer group and the US MUTT jeeps with the TOW missile launcher.

There are other vehicles in our existing ranges that can be used with these new figures, so we'll get those added into the relevant website sections in the coming days.

These releases clear a load of sculpts from the desk here at Pendraken HQ, so we'll have a few weeks off moulding now! Next on the agenda is a new Russo-Japanese range, some extra Indo-China sculpts, and then maybe a few surprises here and there...!

Hey Leon, have you checked your figs to see if they match with the Warlord Epic Waterloo range?

Unfortunately, the Warlord figures are too big so don't work with ours. They're around 13.5mm so they don't fit with any of the existing 10mm or 15mm ranges. It seems like a missed opportunity to me, they could have picked up so many more sales among the existing 10mm or 15mm players rather than inventing their own range just to tie folks to their products.

After a few new releases back at the start of the year we're back with some more additions for our American War of Independence ranges, this time with emphasis on the French. 

First up we've got some Lee's Legion and mounted militia for the Americans, skirmishing Queens Rangers and British Legion infantry for the Brits.  And then for the French we've got Chasseurs, mounted officers, artillery pieces, Lauzun's Legion and the Duc de Lauzun himself!
