I've got a load of Newline Hairy Highlanders...…...do you have any views on basing these EB? Same size bases but four or five to a base perhaps?
I intend to get around to painting them at some point within the next decade...maybe less if lockdown continues up here

I'm not a fan of open spaces on a base. I'd do six or seven Highlanders to a base - three roughly in a straight line at the front with three or four figures staggered behind them to look like three ranks. I managed to squeeze seven Newline Janissaries on a base like that, but Newline are quite chunky so six would do.

Ditto that. The Pike and Shot Society has a wealth of stuff, but quite expensive. On-line should give you all you need.

The League of Augsburg forum was brilliant - I don't know if it's still going.

I wouldn't dream of contradicting Fred or the Baron on uniform detail, but you might think that life is too short to worry about socks or gaiters or piping on a 22mm figure from a distance of three or four foot. I just splash the paint on and hope people look at the flags.

If I can't find the correct hat, I tend to ignore grenadiers . People have been kind enough not to mention it.

Gary is quite right. His 24 figure units look far more impressive than my feeble 18 figure offerings. I'm not changing now though, and we've combined forces in the same game with no problem at all.

I knew I'd regret asking about bases. I only have 40mm x 40mm which is a smidge over 1' 1/2 inches.

But have you found the correct shade of blue?

True British as Bavarians gives you gaiters, but French gives you belly box cartridge pouch, so you pays your money and takes your choice.

If you wanted to get truly picky, British after Ramilles also need backpacks.

Actually, I would recommend British for the Bavarians, as both were unusual in being the only troops to wear gaiters, rather than shoes and stockings, and carry waterbottles.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, then the two-book set is by Charles Grant jnr, and I think has been re-printed; then there's the Pike & Shot Society's publications, usually based on Peter Hall's work. Caliver also has, or at least had, some of the Editions Brokaw booklets which are useful little tomes, usually covering two or three nations in each one.

The baccus uniform cds are Peter Hall as well, just cheaper thab the P&S fondle books.

Nothing to play CD's on in our house. I really wanted those CD's Vexillia had for sale recently with all the old articles but alas they may as well be on microfilm.
