I've just received the operational map and, this evening will put my divisions out and establish lines of supply. This stage is what many people will call a campaign. Normally this would be 4 hexes of the map you see, but because I am on the edge and moving towards the action, I am working on an extension of the main operational map.

The fog of war aspect it brilliant, if a little disconcerting.

The reason I am moving SE not S is that if I did, my Russian Corps would be taking on the entire French army. The Osteriches are sitting on a riverline and wouldn't come to help me.

Have you upset them?

No, but moving Osterrich corps in a coordinated manner is fraught with difficulty, and crossing a riverline makes it worse.

This all makes more sense now - I've see this evolving on the guy's blog recently too. I like what he's done with the Altar of Freedom ACW rules for this, and the maps and fog of war stuff look like they'll provide the backdrop to a really interesting campaign.

I shall soon be able to report on the operational level. There has been heavy modding for Boneyonics, but thus far it is rivetting.
