I only ever send my items I sell on ebay by 2nd class signed for post, that is the only option I offer (1st class if they pay more). That way I know the item is delivered, it protects me and the buyer. I have had an arse who wanted to collect an item he had not even bid on, from my house to save £4.50 on postage, he was going to drive 35 miles ? to pick it up. There seems to be a current spree of people making orders from small Wargames firms and then claiming that the order was not delivered and demanding a refund with menace. Normally this is along the lines of "I will destroy your company on the internet".
I haven't encountered this but know a few who have and they normally feel bullied into making a refund despite having evidence that delivery was made to the address provided. Unfortunately the majority of issues seem to arise from buyers in the USA, but that may be an artefact of it being an international order and US manufacturers may find that they have more issues with UK buyers.

What why, would you do this if you have proof it was delivered. That was exactly what I said. I won't name the trader, but he hasn't had the easiest of years so I think he felt that having to fight someone trying to ruin his business on the internet was fire fighting too far.
