Another show game - 2013 Bovington and Selwg, although we ran this at several shows. Table Top Teasers on Tour was a WoSS game where we took different scenarios from the Charles Grant book:

Our terrain consultant was on hand to reassure spectators that no teddy bears were harmed during the making of the terrain:

We used 'All The Kings Men' rules by Ken Cliffe, which use a traffic light system (green, amber, red) for control each turn, hence the counters:

When did you commence using the raised table to spare the spines of your fellow Ageing Anti-Alchemists? I recall seeing it for the first time when you did Hastings at Cavalier/Tonbridge Wells, but can't recall which year that was.

I saw it for the first time at Deep Fried Lard two years ago (remember back before the world fell and we could travel to foreign climes to play games, eat curry and drink beer?)

I believe it was Barbarossa in day in the 90’s that saw the first raised game but it’s a long time ago and the memory is long gone!

No, I'm not quite sure when we started (and we're currently struggling to find pics of Barbarossa in a Day) but as we were going through the old stuff Neanderthal found this page from one the magazines (quality a bit ropey as it's scanned in):

The game was I think a one-off adaption of the 20mm France 1940 IABSM! game we had run so we were definitely raising it in 1998. Always mildly intrigued that virtually no-one ever copied the idea, it always seemed to work quite well (apart from dad's having to raise very small children up to shoulder height  )
