Re: Drat, drat and double drat
The old building was huge.the upstairs area was the old works canteen. Downstairs had two bars, a function room, gym and snooker rooms.
Airbus have been looking to demolish it and build a hotel for years. It's finally going to happen. The new building has a bigger gym, a smaller event space and a cafe. They have bowed to staff complaints and agreed to put 4 beer taps at one end.
We need to sort out who will actually be prepared to come on a Wednesday night and organise a booking system otherwise the same 12 people will grab the tables every week

Certainly not. Actually, it'll be the taxpayer, as we had a lump of money from a government Covid grant.Wg Cdr Luddite wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 8:00 pm Who paid for the redecoration ? I hope it wasn't a wealthy Tory donor.

I wonder how many price rises in 'rip off Britain' will be sneaked in post Covid in our hobby. Warlord or Foundry will need watching I'd guess.
There is no point in being stupid if you don't show it!

Moving our stuff out of the old building next Wednesday morning. Some will have to go.
An alternative site has been identified but it's 15 minutes or so further away. That's a deal breaker for some but so is the space at Airbus. A schism looms.

He has a well stitched number on his back and will suffer death by crochet!
In the GGC (Great Garage Clearout) part 1, I found a stack of my wifes grandmothers papers, including score cards with comments from WI competitions. Those ladies are really mean, I suspect that there was Third Reich DNA in there somewhere!
