I've always found Dave really easy to deal with and his service is first class in my experience. Can't see him as a conglomerate no matter how hard I squint.😁

Agreed - he can be somewhat mercurial, but pretty much a straight shooter.

I've always found Caliver to be great to deal with, particularly when it comes to post free figures to this far away land

At least the figures are still available and have not disappeared to resurface 10 - 20 years later.
I for one am happy they stayed in the UK and I have purchased several items from Dave with excellent service.
All I need now is to save up some pennies to treat myself to a couple of hundred figures :) .

All I can add to this, is that I have known Dave Ryan for many many years as a friend and wargames opponent, and I have always found him to be a straight arrow. He can be a bit hard nosed in business terms, but given the longevity and growth of Caliver maybe he's right to be.

Cut him some slack, he was part of the cash bail out of Battlegames when it was struggling financially a few years back, and he never blew his own trumpet about that.

I haven't bought much from him, but always found him OK.

Indeed. Unfortunately, anyone in wargaming who runs a business profitably is accused of ripping people off by the "If I buy two, do I get a 50% discount?" brigade.

Too true sadly.

I probably started this by focusing on the fact that the prices had increased. To be fair, Graham had flagged that up a couple of weeks earlier so it was probably a cheap shot. I've always found caliver to be excellent to deal with both online and at shows, so I'm perfectly comfortable with the new arrangement and will certainly buy more Crann Tara stuff in the coming months.

I've bought stuff from Caliver and had no complaints. The only issue will be that the profile of Crann Tara as a manufacturer was that they were there at shows, the stuff was on display and you had a committed advocate to talk to you.

With Caliver they are just one of many ranges.
