The best person to Google for this is Joe Bilton. The stuff he creates is amazing and he’s a thoroughly nice guy too (Wargamer Joe on Twitter)

You’re are doing stained glass windows aren’t you ?
I've been thinking of it.
As you know, you can't see very much from the outside - certainly little or no colour- & as the roof is fixed, all I'd need to do would be glue a smoky transparency over the ostensible SG windows.

Yep that would look good

Stained glass is an interesting one. I know some people like to use pictures of religious scenes but I think that always looks a bit odd because, as Donald says, you can't see much from the outside. stained glass generally looks very dark green, tinged with bits of dark red and can look a bit splodgy.
I've done mine by simply doing small splodges of colour (mainly greens with a bit of red) on a black undercoat (leaving some black showing), then varnished the windows using a yacht varnish / dark wood stain mix to darken the whole lot, mute the colours, and give a gloss surface all at the same time. I think the trick, to fool the eye, is to keep the glass looking dark.

That's a lovely building, Jeremy.
I thank you for the SG window tips, Oli.
I aim to take my time over this. Once I finish my Late Roman army - I've started on a final, 8 figure cavalry unit -it'll be my "project du jour".
