The old Napoleonics are plentiful on ebay. The only pricey rare ones are the Cowboys and WW2 Italians. What were you thinking of?FreddBloggs wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 9:10 am Grrr I keep getting the urge to get airfix 1/32nds I never had as a kid and do something similar!

Dunno, been poking around 1/32nd stuff that is available. Ideas not crystalised yet but an imaginations mid to late 19thC. Well if I could find scots in kilts to face FFL, zoauvres, iron brigade, just looking for something to be prussians in helmets. Not sure of nap austrians or bavarians would do it.

Ok, all of the above are available. Armies in Plastic do Prussians in pickelhaube, and French Foreign Legion and Iron Brigade and Zouaves. Expeditionary Force do a huge range of suitable figures including Colonial British and they are superb figures. And that's just for starters. Check out this guy, if he hasn't got it, it's probably not worth having. And if you want, I have no doubt that I will have some figures going spare knocking around the war room.
http://plasticsoldiers.co.uk/ Sadly it does look like he is not stocking Armies in Plastic any more, but they are available elsewhere https://www.amazon.co.uk/Toys-Games-Arm ... in+Plastic

.
Rules? You ask me what rules do I use. No, I don't do rules.

For scots in kilts you have 2 options from AIP, either the WWI Scots with Glengary or the usual Colonial type with Pith.
Re: ACW One Hour Wargame action
Or you could use old Airfix 'moderns' and imagi-painted WWII figures like our first incarnation of Kumbahyah our Imagi-Post Colonial Africa game that seems to have become quite a success at Ayton over the years. I think its the most we've gamed anything now with this November being the 4th game. The 2nd photo is our Pacific skirmish with Airfix Japs, Gurkhas, and Aussies.

And you can get some lovely 54mm SYW figures from HaT still, which would make a great unit of Swans!

Looking at those photos I've realized I can do with my AIP figures the same as Mark has with his ACW. Going to pick up some artboard as soon as I can get to Hobbycraft.
I've dug out my copies of One Hour Wargames and One Hour Skirmish games and its sparked a few ideas.

Ww2 has its charm, especially as I have the command post kit from airfix.
