My suggestion would be The Golden Fleece. They have some decent sized tables in the back pub area. We could book one of the big ones. Grub is good and decently priced, and well, it was built in 1502 so had loads of atmosphere.
I no nothing - so happy to follow.
Cool, I think you’ll like the place. I’ll book a table closer to the time when we’ve firmed up numbers

I will be there on the Sunday. Is there a rendezvous planned.
Do we need to synchronise our watches ?
Does Peeler need to synchronise his diary ?

Ian, what time is your train due in? Will take you for a coffee if you're likely to be at a loose end? In fact, happy to show anyone the sights, sounds smells. Could drive us down to Towton for a gawp at the battlefield or show you where the Yorkshire Regt Museum is, its been refurbbed and worth a look for a fiver.

Hello Tim,
Excellent idea. My train gets into York at around 11:30 on Friday - is that OK? I thought I'd head over to the Regimental museum and then over to the hotel sometime after 14:00. The museum closed too early for me to visit the last time I was in York so it's a must see. Coffee and museum sounds good.
On Saturday I'm giving the place the full tourist treatment so pinning myself down to a specific time might be a problem.
Exchanging telephone numbers might be a good idea.
