Blimey Jeremy, you certainly have a lot of 'shades' to play with. You don't get that option with Humbrol: You generally have to mix each shade, generally using black, white or yellow (except when highlighting dark blue when you use light blue - white turns it grey for some reason) as the toner. Consequently, I use less pots, perhaps a dozen or so to do a 'thrice shaded' Napoleonic infantryman with full equipment.
This drawer shot shows the the total shades of paint I use to do everything - the ones in the red biscuit tin are unopened spares (so they don't get mixed up). I don't even use half of the 'opened' colours: Several tins (a strange assortment at that) have been gifted to me over the years by painters who have given up 'the hard stuff'.
