I need to check where they are, but could post them to you in the New Year (I always try to avoid the Xmas post for important stuff, as a lot goes missing at that time of year).
....and I believe I gave all my Wodensfeld to Donald, but if I have any kicking around you can have them. I believe my mate JC has the moulds, and I think he still supplies.

Between you & John, I acquired about 300 figures. They're all painted in 14 X 20 figure battalions.
The pity is that Mr Wodenfeld died before moving onto cavalry & artillery as they are spiffing figures.

He also left a rather nice little ACW range some way from completion (again, especially in the fields of cavalry/artillery).

I'm a little more sensitive. I would say that it's a pity that he died, and that it's also a pity that he didn't complete the range.

Sure. But I didn't know him or, indeed, anything of him apart from his figures. I don't mean to sound callous. You'll notice I use the word "died" as I loathe euphemisms such as "passed" etc. Equally, not meant to sound callous. I should perhaps have written, "The pity is Mr Wodenfeld did not finish the range"?

We could get all John Donne & " any man's death diminishes me" if you like. The point was I was talking about some wargames' figures not about mortality.

Hello, Iain.

"Not any higher stands the Grave
For Heroes than for Men-
Not any nearer for the Child
Than numb Three scores and Ten-"

from one of my favourites; the rather morbid Emily Dickinson. It's an important & solemn subject but, fortunately, even my French SYW casualty figures are irrelevant.
