Is it the normal matt or the Professional one?

W&N General Purpose Matt Varnish spray in a silver can.

It also has a very strange smell, like lemony toilet-cleaner.

Sorry to interrupt but it may be of interest that I've stopped buying W&N brushes in favour of Broken Toad Fugazi series.
These BT brushes maintain their point for far longer than W&N & cost about 1/3 less.

Not sure if you can get them in the UK though?

Rosemary and co brushes for me, cheaper, last longer and nice people.

Regularly get a couple of years and around 600 figures (all 28mm) from a W&N Series 7. I’d be interested to how many I can get with a Rosemary & Co brush. In just under 5 years and around 200-300 figures a year, I’m still on my second set and they’re nowhere near knackered.

I’ve seen many recommendations for Rosemary and tried them a few times and so far found them to lose their points much quicker. But lots of people swear by them so I’m probably doing something wrong.

Broken Toad have had a buzz around their brushes for the last year or so, plenty of people recommending them.
I'm gradually switching over to "Artis Opus" after I realised that "Squidmar" brushes were made far too expensive by the postage and duties etc...

Rosemary and co brushes for me, cheaper, last longer and nice people.

In my case it is me, W&N are rolls royce brushes and need that level of care and will last many years if you use the brush cleaner and soap and dry them etc.

Rosemary & co are cortinas and cope with me cornering too hard and being tough on the breaks.

Ah, that's probably it. This was the only option when they ran out of Montana spray just as I was needing to varnish the last models for Warfare. Even so, it was still considerably more expensive than my usual (excellent) Montana spray.
