I’m building a wall around you.
OK, but I'm not paying for it.

I bought some Humbrol enamel matt varnish......which, now that Jeremy has put a hex on it, I expect to be a solid lump of goo. I bought two more tins of the same from the other model shop today.....I suppose they'll be pants as well. Boyes was just round the corner. Same paint but cheaper. Doh!
You stil using Humbrol matt enamel varnish? I swapped over to Galer-Rowney enamel (very flat) matt varnish yonks ago, over a coat of gloss it's the mutts. (And a lot more cost effective as well.)
I shall purchase said varnish (thank you). Unusable Humbrol varnish is becoming something of the norm.

Apparently, the method to get the best result (ie most matt) effect from the Daler-Rowney stuff is to decant almost all the liquid from the jar, leaving only the gel and a little fluid to cover it. The gel gives the matt-ness and if you ensure that that is the bit you use, you should get a good finish.

To be honest, I have never any problems with the matt-ness. I just give the bottle a damn good shake so all the sediment mixes in and orf I go.

It's something to do with the good shake, I imagine.
