Just to set this in stone, now I'm on here rather than just FB, I should be bringing a counter insurgency force of:
4 x 'Sticks' of Rhodeleland Rifles (16 Figures)
2 x 'Sticks' of 'Randalls' Rangers (8 Figures)

I'm not sure of vehicle quota at the moment but likely to be a couple of Landrovers and some G-Car and K-car Light helicopters.

I also have a small number of buildings suitable for sub Saharran Africa, which I can bring too.

Excellent, I'll need to know what they are armed with if possible.

I have x 4 fire teams of Major Yentl's Ishmaeli paratroops, sporting rocket launchers and GPMG's. They have body armour which is significant in casualty/wound rolls. (16 figures)

Also a rabble of General Aladeen's National Guard, again packing RPG's and light support weapons with the odd sniper.

Will be aquiring the Kumbayah police on Sunday I hope.

There's a possibility that TV personality, soap star and wannabe serious journalist Russ Hemp is planning to try and record an episode for his series 'Russ Hemp Meets Baddies in the Jungle'

Hopefully that won't cause any problems???

None at all, we'll just class them as ablative armour.

If we were doing this in biggish toy soldier scale I could get my hands on some real heavy air support. We've got a 1:48 Canberra at work.

Intrologue:

Kumbayah, a tiny independant republic on the coast of Northern South West Africa, just below the great Bongo forests but just above the vast Mamnib desert was nowhere anyone cared about. Until.. Middle Eastern Mining Companies backed by Europan banks have found perrier springs. Eager to exploit this to serve the Western lust for over priced water in fancy bottles in the restaurants of the early 1980's Europa, mercenary armies are moving in to secure the wells for their Europan paymasters.

Meanwhile, in Great Albion calls for the defence of Kumbayah's integrity have rung out in the halls of Eastminster. Brian, a work experience intern at the Department of External Carbonated Water Imports has uncovered a clause in some legal tome that might be interpreted as identifying Kumbayah as a Commonwealth member of The Great Albion Empire. With her forces already committed to "the troubles" in Wales and having already sent a task force south to take back islands in the Atlantic, Albion must look to "private enterprise" to save the day.

Who buys these things? It must be the size of a reasonable coffee table.

You could do the raid on Westlands Farm.

1/48 isn't toooooo bad for 28mm......especially when you consider that by the time you add the full figure height to bases they're more like 36mm tall! Would make a great terrain piece.

Pretty much standard UK (Late 1970s) Infantry kit, SLRs etc...
Unarmed Landies, unless I get a chance to scratchbuild the bits for a convoy protection one! Might add in a Ferret A/C too.
G-cars light Machine gun armed, K-cars MG and TOW armed.

TOW, rhodieland must have swapped a plane load of baccy for em. Shouldn't one of each of your sticks have a heavy barrel FN capable of cyclic fire?
