Then I went and discovered that I needed to build a Welsh army from the Footsore Dark Age Welsh!

Fear not..... it's inevitable..... this new Matthew Bickley "Dark Age" Welsh sculpts from Footsore are too lovely to resist. Also, I have always wanted to do a display game of the Battle of Hereford 1055 and Ralph de Mantes (aka Ralf the Timid  ) getting his ass kicked.

I've already started on the terrain with the first-rate Grand Manner Norman Motte and Bailey and a few other Early Medieval pieces including some stuff that the old Scottish based company Stronghold Terrain were kind enough to cast up for me. I need to red sculpt the thatch but that's about it.

That's come up very bloody well, mate. I wish the club here was less interested in Magic and goblins, and more in historicals.

I though Stronghold were German (https://stronghold-terrain.de/en/produc ... ain/houses)? Or am I mixing up companies?

They are. But, there was a company that produces resin castings in Scotland called Stronghold Terrain that folded maybe ten(?) years back.

Shame really as they had some pretty good stuff.

Associated with SDD IIRC, which was another interesting range.. The owner died IIRC.

I didn't realise Mike had died but I knew he was ill. It's been 11 years since I last saw him. All the same, it's very sad news.
