Andy's face when my marines were allowed by umpire EB to storm ashore and assault the objective building (they failed to take it).

Mexican lancers deluged in shot and shell. Twice.

The slightly late start at the horse riding school.

Purps' dog throwing up.

Window tits.

And so many more.

Tim’s cavalry charge at the first Ayton, sorry Peeler - that was magnificent though.
Ayton 1 again - just walking in that hall and seeing the 24ft table for the first time and the huge battle lines.
Paul and Ebs Colonial game I remember really enjoying.
My Prussian IR29 which has performed outrageously well in all there Loose Ass Affiliated battles.
The very drunk man on a mobility scooter with a flashlight on his head that drove across the cricket pitch at night...
The look of terror on everyone’s faces when Gaynor rocked up. It was like the stare of the redcoats when the rest of the zulus crest the hill line at Rorkes Drift...
Gary’s wonderful game at his with his and Ebs beautiful small scale collection.
And the incredible coincidence that I appear to be on the losing side for almost every game... I think I’m on like 2 wins and 8 losses...

And not so good...

My dice rolling throughout Ayton 2016, which Henry described as the worst he’s ever seen. It was truely breathtaking.
The Harpies. I have already shown you where I was touched, on a Strelets Napoleon.

All of these things could so easily never have happened. When the "Wouldn't it be great if" topic started on WD it looked much like the one that gets started on just about every forum. Then Peeler said, "I can get a hall". Henry had a set of rules and farsands of plastic Spencer Smiths and enough of us said "Yeah, I'm in".
I know when to go out
I know when to stay in
Get things done

And I'm bloody glad you did. Otherwise I'd never have met you lot and never have had such fantastic games to remember. There, that's the sentimental bit over with, you gits!
Why us? Cos we're 'ere lad, nobody else.

VB's face when, at the siege of Granprix, I informed him that there were sails on the horizon and over the space of about 20 seconds it dawned on him. "They're not our ships, are they?"

EB's face in the Byzarbia game when I uttered an ear-splitting "BANG!" and his flagship sank to the bottom thanks to a lucky red-hot shot from Prunkland's artillery in the town.

Almost everyone's reaction when confronted with The Savage Swans' Indians charging out of the woods into Mike's artillery.

The one GaryP just mentioned – the fantastic house-to-house fighting and desperate charges in and around the blazing town of Contre Rivière in the Grenouisse at Bay campaign.

Poor Purp's face in almost every game we've played. Mate, leave your dice at home and borrow mine!

The brilliant multiple-front game of the first Granprix campaign as people found themselves fighting back-to-back and front-to-front sandwiched between opposing forces.

Actually, the terrific campaign prelude of several of the weekends, including the scurrilous rumours and disinformation, and from my point of view, the chance to fight some little naval battles and the exciting encounter at Ubbynedre last time.

Oh, and the fate of the Braunschweig Jäger when they encountered a bear in the woods...

And the fate of General E Pickled...

And VB's bloody annoying Cossacks...

And Norm's bloody camel guns felling Peeler's elephants...

And Andy's flaming pigs...

And people wonder why I love these campaigns and games.

High spot........meeting each and every one of you for the first time.

Low spot.......realising that I'd fallen in with an unforgiving bunch of gits.

High spot......the charge of the Theobald Cuirassiers at the first Ayton.

Low spot.......the Gateway cavalry's inability to do it if anyone is watching.

High spot.......definitely the game at Paul's castle. That was a terrific weekend.

Low spot.......missing Ayton 2016.

High spot.......combining my Les Higgins and Irregular stuff with Gary's at Framlingham and Gary's ShedCon.

Low spot......buying stuff from Andy.

High spot......getting the chance to enjoy games all over the country. In no particular order.....Ayton, Newcastle, Fram (hotel and loft), Maidstone, Mansfield, Lincoln, Diss, Hove, Scarborough, Aberfeldy and Grantham.
