After a delay, another French infantry regiment musters in to GHQ in the shape of the Bouillon Regiment. As you'd expect, more on my blog for the interested.
There is no point in being stupid if you don't show it!
Marvellous stuff once again and the Bouillon Regiment look suitably beefy.
Good catch in Hay! There's always plenty to find in Hay, but the wily buggers always know the value, so a bargain is pretty rare. I find the best place for military history bargains is the Old Cinema Bookshop (where my late father-in-law went to see films in the 1930s, but never if it was raining, as the tin roof meant that rain drowned out the dialogue!).

Lovely regiment, mate. 5 quid for the book? mumble grumble lucky mumble bastard, grumble
It's been a week for it. I got the complete six-volume set (mint condition) of Napier's history of the Peninsular War in a Bideford charity bookshop for £3 per volume. They also had a complete set of Oman's history, but I've already got that.

There's not only no decent second hand bookshops left in Brisbane, there's no real bookshops left at all.
Blame the internet. I mostly buy books from a couple of overseas' booksellers & an increasing amount of e-book stuff.
Everyone else is the same.
Cheaper, more convenient but I do miss the hours I used to spend browsing in new & second hand book shops.
