I didn't know the flooding up there was so bad. All the news channels here want to talk about is Gaza. I'm glad you and yours are OK, mate, and hopefully thing can be fixed more quickly than the assessor estimated.

Just a quickie whilst I still can. Firstly thanks to all for offers of help, it is so much appreciated. The insurance process has now kicked in and I found it very satisfying to remove all the sodden carpets this morning. We are slowly rescuing stuff that we can, but the insurance cover is going to take care of the grief. I shall update as when and stop when I start boring you all. But thanks again guys.

Tried to phone today but sounds like the phone got taken out with the flood. Give us a shout if you need us or just if you fancy a chat and let us know once you find a refuge.

Sorry to hear this, Tim, only just seen the thread as we had a power cut yesterday morning - not flooding, but a hairy-arsed engineer from Fretwork Snail sticking his tool through an electricity cable (oh, if only.....).
Hope it is all sorted out soonest and to your, and your missus's, satisfaction.

Sorry to hear that Tim - I didn't think East Anglia was hit that bad... my parents reported nothing out of the ordinary. A quick check of the news shows how wrong I was....
I hope the enforced refurb goes as well as can be expected. Nothing worse than water.

Ssssh, don’t wake him! Stu and I are enjoying a shared delusion in which we support a football team that’s not completely rubbish.
Sorry about the flooding Tim, I hate it when that happens! Ma Dog also failed to indicate how bad it was in Suffolk, but then given she complains about the weather constantly, I tend to tune it out.
