It could be that the British refer to the war as The Seven Years War and that the Prussians, Austrians and Russians refer to it as something completely different. In which case, not withstanding the reference to it being a battle, the BBC could be entirely correct.

Just saying.

I think it's just poor research, which is not really unusual in any of the media organisations these days. It's the same here.

I think from the perspective of the Prussians it was the "third Silesian War"......
