My dad gave me a plastic bull that was stuck on a bottle of Spanish wine. It's actually a really nice model so I'll mount it on a suitable plinth and stick it in one of my Spanish villages. Casa El Toro or something like that anyway. Thought I might do El Cid for another.

Anything can be painted to look like stone or weathered bronze etc. Britain's farm animals, zoo animals – loads of railway stuff. What sort of thing are you after?

Sergeant's Mess do a couple of nice resin ones on plinths. More 20mm than 28. The one in LT's Monastery garden is one of theirs but not on their plinth. If you want big then the Redoubt Musketeers range had a nice one of Charleton Heston as Richelieu.
I always find that it isn't the statue that causes the trouble anyway it's modelling the perching pigeon that's really difficult!
