I think that my 18th century SS might require a bit of balancing up. I appear to be a bit heavy on commanders. I have 40 copies of one Light Infantry officer alone. I shall have to dig out the other box. I'm pretty sure that one is mainly Americans in buckskin shirts.

Sell all your 19th century figures, let’s start again in 20mm
Big kiss.

You all need to take a deep breath.

Shiny is wonderful.........but shiny is wonderful because there are other options.

Just saying.

No tongues this time.

As to the 20mm idea, we have a 20mm enthusiast at the club, he wears socks with sandals.

I do like a bit of shiny.

This is the formulation I prefer.

I use 2 coats and find that gives a lovely finish .
A good coat of gloss varnish will transform you dull, matt, colorless figures into shiny beauties. Use natural light to highlight your figures rather than complex multi layered paint highlighting.

I also understand that it works on figure scales and periods other than 20mm Napoleonic.

You mean you’re not going to gloss varnish the Thin Red Smudge ?

This thread is a very good idea - will certainly breathe some life back into my unused 1866 figures

I won't be shinying my 19th century figs but I'm sure the Swans and Austrians will look good when you guys do them.

The Thin Red Smudge went to Hotel via Peeler on the Sunday after the game. And, yes of course I would now be glossing them like a mad dog.
