You can get the same effect from drinking 4 pints, popping on a blindfold and randomly dipping into Peelers tat box.

I can see why it works. There is a lot of gamers that buy random stuff each week and can’t focus on any one thing for longer than a unit. On YouTube and Twitter I see loads of wargamers that have 468 things on the go, never really getting anywhere in any of them. Look at all the ‘what I bought from salute’ threads about on Twitter. It’s not far different!

North Star used to do a similar thing, but it was much more focussed: figures only, 28mm only, period-themed. (e.g. “Dark Ages” or “WWII”.)
So you knew more or less what you were getting, but not the specifics.

I got one of their Dark Age bargain bags - it was all good stuff, (Artizan & Crusader figures) dirt cheap, and fun to unpack.

I did it with ww2s as I just wanted examples, but at least they related to each other.
