How do they cover each other if you go outside the lines, or is it a case of lightest first, or redo the undercoat on that bit.

GW have a £35 offer at the moment which gets you ten paints of your choice from across the ranges. You are limited to taking a certain quantity from each range, but still not a bad deal!
How much? That is 15 coat de arms or vallejos!

Depends on the colour, with the darker colours you might get away with it but light over dark just doesn't work. I painted red and brown over a flesh wash and that was ok but purple over pale green was a bit of a mess. The individual pots of brush on undercoat are more reasonably priced though so if you bought into the system you could get away with the pale grey spray and a pot of each of the two brush on primers to touch up mistakes and warm up accents.

That's helpful. I have too many paints really, but a couple more for a test can't hurt, can it?

I'm thinking, if the results online that I've seen are accurate, that these could be excellent for horses and WWII. Not entirely sure that they'll be so good for other applications, like horse and musket. But the point made earlier about ancient types seems like another good use -- could speed up the Greek Action!

That's handy, Paul, thank you.
I'm starting to feel the love with this stuff.

Which one is Union Blue?

The answer is either:
(A) Any old blue you’ve got handy will do just fine, don’t worry about it.
Or (B) You will sense it’s perfection when you find it and must never stop searching until you do.
Pick one.
