@ Vexilla. I do use the $10 grand laser printer at work for my flags. The result is pleasing.

OK, I'll hoy down to the LHS & buy a matte varnish (testors or humbrol: whatever they stock) & do a test case.

I use winsor and newton matt varnish. Brush only though.

Yeah, I reckon a laser printer is worth using. You can get an A4 sheet done at office works for a handful of cash.

OOH, I know this one, that's the alternative answer to the 'why are wargamers like lawyers' question.. the other answer is of course.. 'WRG 6th Edition, and Newbury Fast-PLay'.

I thought that answer was, no one wants to be trapped in a lift with one?
