Ah ha. Mr P. Good to know that you'll be attending.
Will you be putting on a game? Have you thought about what games you'd like to play? You'll find a list of the very splendid games currently on offer at the top of page one - let the organiser know if anything tickles your fancy. Let me know also and I'll update the list.
Regarding the question about what troops to bring to the 18thC game/s........
The intention is have scenario driven games which have clear objectives and which can be fought to a conclusion within the time available. Dave and I don't want to be too prescriptive if it can be helped, but to finish a game on time there must be a degree of restraint. The nature of the scenarios will greatly influence troops numbers, but we'll be as accommodating as we can for those with larger armies. There's no minimum number of troops of course - turn up and you'll get to play (unless no one turns up with any troops, in which case it could be a bit embarrassing).
I fear that someone will have to take Gary to one side and explain that his entire French army is probably going to be too big. In fact, the Gateways twelve battalions of foot and similar number of squadrons of horse would probably be on the large size for one person to handle on a single day's play (even given that the horse will disappear at the first rattle of a saber).
