Dear me, I had both of those as a youngster - Lesney/Matchbox, if I'm not mistaken. Both vehicles were nicked by my younger brother who took them to school and gave them (gave, notice - the little fecker didn't even sell the little feckers) to his mates.

The Ferrets are Dinky, the Matchbox one is much smaller. I can't remember who made the Saladin. They're all in the kids toybox!

EDIT - Saladin was by Crescent. (EDIT 2 http://essexmodelsandminiatures.co.uk/b ... /crescent/ )

Event suggestion #1
Two F&CO representatives, Mr Cholmondley-Warner and his assistant Greyson have been introduced to ghat by a local warlord. They wander aimlessly around the battlefield debating whether Peter Gabriel's solo output was better than his work with Genesis.

Event suggestion #2
A small boy darts out of a building in the fire zone, hotly pursued by Hoffie the OXFAM worker. 1 VP to whoever takes Hoffie out of action.

Can the small boy be called "Wellesley" - it just seems like an appropriate name for the Hoff's nemesis.

:clappy: :clappy: Ooh.... great question! Whilst songs like ‘Suppers Ready’, ‘The Knife’ and ‘In The Cage’ are works of brilliance, so too are songs like ‘Wallflower’, ‘San Jacinto’ and ‘Intruder’.

I fear they may never find the answer!

You’ll have to have ‘Biko’ on perpetual loop whilst playing.

Random events?

1. Landmine/unexploded cluster munitions.
A figure which has entered rough terrain this move or a vehicle which has gone off road this move, has triggered a leftover from the last war to ravage the region.
(i.e. last Tuesday.)
The controlling players of all figures who meet the above conditions dice off. Lowest roller is the lucky recipient of an explosion-shaped bonus.
(If lowest roller has more than one figure or vehicle eligible to trip a mine - determine randomly which figure or vehicle it is.)

2. Road collapse.
The Randini-Pierreville road was built to take nothing heavier than a bicycle, albeit a bicycle laden with an entire family and a gravity-defying burden of cassava and chickens.
All players with a vehicle on a road roll off. Lowest roll = the roadway under your wheels collapses. This 10cm stretch of road counts as rough terrain for the rest of the game.
A control roll is required for the vehicle - succeed = lurches to a halt safely. Fail = bogged down, requires troops to disembark and spend a turn freeing it. Critical fail = over it goes!

Actually the Saladin depicted is the Corgi variant, and more compatible with 28mm figures. The Crescent version was much larger. I say that with conviction as I have examples of both.
Rules? You ask me what rules do I use. No, I don't do rules.

It is indeed the Corgi one. I rather fancy the Libyan cammo scheme.

Does anyone know of a manufacturer of .30 cal Brownings in 28mm?
